Oberon and Egeus never meet, yet they each have something to do with Demetrius's love life. In Act II, Scene 2, Oberon over-hears Helena tell Demetrius that she would love him even if he kicks her and treats her like his dog! (FYI: This is an unhealthy relationship!) So, Oberon tells Puck to put the magic love potion from the flower on Demetrius's eyes as well as Titania's. What does this say about Oberon's beliefs compared to those of Egeus? What does this tell us about Oberon's character and motivation?
What does this say about how he uses his magic? On one hand, he is helping out Helena, but on the other, he is getting back at Titania for their argument. He's nice to one woman, but not to another? What is the difference?

Oberon thinks that love is something you can't choose, also that is what i think the person that you love just comes to you. Egues thinks that love is something you CAN choose who someone loves. I do think it is wrong to put a love spell on someone (if you could). They should beable to choose for themself.
Oberon is someone who always gets what he wantes and he is willing to do anything to get it.
Oberon is useing a potion and Egeus's isn't. Oberon is useing a love potion and he is putting it on their eyelids. He does not use his magic right. He wants titania to give the kid to him but she doesn't, and he wants Demetrius to fall in love with Helena. He likes another girl.
Oberon wants Demetrius to love Helena as much as Helena loves Demetrius. Oberon want them to have a good relationship, with no problems. I think Oberon personality is okay with Egeus because Egeus wants her daughter to marry Lysander not Demetrius, and if Oberon was to put the potion to Demetrius he wouldn't like her no more which would make hermias dad happy

egeus believes that he should be the one to choose who his daugter loves and marrys but oberon thinks that if someone loves someone thats the one. he is like he can be very loving and nice and he can be very mean and not loving.
Egeus's thinks since he is Hermias father he can choose who she marries. Oberon belives in ture love and not being forced to love someone.
Oberons personality is unique, he can be a very nice guy but if you get on his bad side or make him very angry he can do things to make everything miserable. He maybe helping Helena but he knows that he is doing nothing to help Titania.
Oberon believes in love not of just money. Egeus on the other hand, doesn't really care about love. He just wants Hermia to get married but not to Lysander. 'Cause he is poorer than Demitrious.
I think that Oberon wants Helena to be happy with Demitrious. So from that I would say he is caring. Now to Titania, they got in a fight and he is getting back at her.
Egues doesn't care and doesn't know anything about love, and oberon does know those things. Egues is trying to get hermia to marry to someone she doesn't love, he just wants demetruis's money. And oberon wants to help out helena with her demetruis problem, oberon is nice. But all he wants is to get titania back for the fight they are having! thats dumb
Oberon thinks you can force someone to see love in your prospective and Egeus thinks you can choose who somebody else loves. Egeus is a way messed up character from my point of view because he forces his daughter to marry Demetrius. Oberon is just trying to get back at Titania because of their argument.
Oberon thinks he can get an women that he wants. Egeus thinks he can make anyone love anyone like he has done to his dautgher.
I think Oberons personality is a bad personality. If he didnt put people madly in love with the person that doesnt want to be in love he would be a good person. It would be cool he if could change under his own spell or posion.

I think the reason he is doing what he is doing is because he wants Helena to be happy no matter what so he sees that she is happy with Demotrious so he puts the love potion on. but i also say that Oberon is getting back at Titania.
Oberon does whatever he feels is right, like putting a love potion on Demetrius and Titania, Oberon's beliefs i feel are somewhat similar to Egeus's beliefs. Egeus thinks that he can just choose the love of others like Hermia and Demetrius and think that it is right, you can do that but its not always the right thing to do. Oberon is a caring person towards Helena's love for Demetrius and that he just thinks Demetrius is doing the wrong thing by wanting to marry hermia.Also Oberon wants him and Titania to be happy together and it's not a bad thing to put a potion on someone if you love them.
I think Oberon just belives in love for the caa-ching-ching (you know money.) And Egeus i think he is full of it and he doesn't really care about love and he thinks it's kind dummy.

oberon uses his magic and potion to make people fall in love with other people, cause he think no one can fall in love without it. While Egeus doesn't beveils in love he makes people fall in love whether they like each other or not.
Oberon helped Helena and didn't help Titania cause Titania didn't what he said. So his personality is he likes to help and he doesn't.
The different thing about Egeus and Oberon is that Oberon uses Magic power to put on peoples eyes so they fall in love with each other. So i think that is not fear for the people that actually try to get someone to love you.
Oberon can do magic, like for example when he ordered Puck to drop some of the flower's love juice on Demetrius's eye lids as he sleeps. Well what either one is doing isn't right. Becuase they shouldn't be telling some one what to do like love some one. But then it comes back to demetrius because he's only going for hermia for her money and it be okay if oberon used da love potion so demetrius can be in love with helena but to be grantee that it's going to work. Egues should at least see whats going to hold for hermia future if shes going to be happy o not isn't that what it matter.? Oberon likes to try &fix things well at least it seen like it. But he should do it the right way were it benefits everyone well like the main people. :) i think thats should go with the question :)
you should love who u want not like egeus thinks that u should love who he wants.The love is in the hearts decision not in the parents decision. cause if u are with someone that u dont love then theres no point of being with them. i think that he is really mean and f****d up.
Egeus doesn't believe in true love and Oberon just wants to make it right by counteracting Egeus by making Lysander love Hermia? While in the process of a argue between Oberon and Titania and he wants to help Helena and not Titania so he is kind of mean.
I don't really think there is a difference in beliefs about love between Oberon and Egeus. Their both trying to force love. There is one difference, I think, and its that Egeus knows he is troubling his daughter and still forces it and Oberon doesn't know he is troubling Demetrius and still does it but as for the Titania thing he is just doing it to get back at her. Also I think Oberon seems like he has two personalities. One seems revengeful and the other seems caring in a way.
Egeus and Oberon believes about love is wrong because they are practacly forcings someone to love someone even if they don't feel anything for that person. For exmaple Egeus wants Hermia to love and marry Demetrious but Hermia would never love him because she loves Lysander. Oberon is trying to help out Helen so that she would be happy with Demetrious but either way it is wrong becauce he would practicly be under a spell. They have the power to do these things but its a wrong chose.
The difference between Oberon and Egeus's beliefs about love are not very different after all. Oberon is trying to get Demetrius to fall in love with Helena with magic dust. Then Egeus is trying to make Hermia fall in love with Demetrius by force because he is her father. Oberon's personality is not very nice because he is making Titania fall in love with some type of creature and then he is going to make some other girl happy by making her true love fall in love with her. So he is making good for one girl, but bad for the other. I would personally think that is a problem with oberon's attitude.

Well Egeus Wants Hermia to marry Demetrius When Hermia doesn't love him. Just because Egeus is Hermia's father it doesn't mean that he gets to make the choices. Oberon see's how much Helena love's Demetrius and i guess tries to help her i guess..
